Frequently asked questions

How do we book a photo session with you?
Booking is simple. Click the Book Your Session link above, choose your session type, and we'll coordinate through email to set your date. A signed contract and retainer are required to secure your spot. If you have questions before booking, feel free to reach out.
What should we wear for our session?
I've written a blog about this here!
I recommend neutral, timeless clothing that feels like you. Soft textures, muted tones, and layers photograph beautifully and help keep the focus on connection rather than outfits. Avoid bold logos, neon colors, or busy patterns. Once you’re booked, you’ll receive a simple style guide to help you coordinate outfits without overthinking it.
How long does it take to get our photos?
Your gallery will be ready within 2 weeks of your session. Each image is thoughtfully edited to reflect my signature style; natural, honest, and enduring. You’ll receive an email as soon as your gallery is ready to view and download.
Can I order prints or albums through you?
Yes, and I highly encourage it. I offer professional-quality prints and products designed to last, from fine art prints to keepsakes made for everyday life. Ordering through me ensures your images are printed exactly as intended, with accurate color and archival quality. Print options will be available directly from your online gallery. Heirloom albums are also available.
Do you shoot on weekends?
Weekend availability is limited to mini session events only. All of my sessions are scheduled Monday-Friday with flexible times available.

From the smallest detail to the final delivery, we will make magic.
One of the best parts of my job is fostering relationships with my clients. When we work together, every detail from location, to wardrobe, to lighting, all the way to your delivered portraits will be handled with the utmost care and attention. I want your experience to be one that's low stress and high reward.

How it works
1. Planning and Scouting
Once you've booked your session, we'll collaborate on the best weekday and time of day that will work best for your family and lighting. Sessions often take place in the morning and late afternoon to achieve that dreamy, sunsoaked look. Next I'll send you location suggestions around Birmingham that will best fit your needs and overall style.
2. Wardrobe and Prep
One of my biggest pieces of advice I can give you is embrace your own family's style. Coordinate everyone's wardrobe instead of going too matchy-matchy. You'll want to avoid big logos or overwhelming accesories that might take over your images. I'll provide you with further wardrobe guidance with planning boards.
3. Delivery of Images
After our shoot has wrapped, I'll work on culling through your images and hand editing your gallery. Your final gallery will be delivered via email about 2 weeks after our shoot. You will have access to download all of your gallery to your computer.

Let’s connect

If this approach resonates, the next step is to get in touch. I take on a limited number of sessions each month to allow space for slower, more intentional work. Inquiries begin with a brief conversation to ensure the experience is a good fit on both sides.
