Hi, it's me...

carmen michael

My first few years of business were spent as a newlywed without children. I shot anything and everything that came my way and I learned a lot! But my affection for shooting classic portraits and motherhood came when I became a mother in 2012. It clicked with me that I didn't want to remember the props and cutesy poses, I wanted to remember what it felt like. And I want my work with you to help those memories come rushing back to you as your children grow older.

A southern girl by way of Clanton, Alabama, Carmen lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband and their 3 children. Her early years were spent daydreaming about being an artist and a dancer. After discovering she was too short to join the Rockettes, Carmen turned her attention in high school and college to photography, earning her BA in Studio Art from the University of Alabama in 2005. In 2009, she founded CBM Photo and has been serving the Birmingham, Alabama area since then.
